To celebrate the upcoming winter holidays, I wanted to have another cookie-decorating party!Date: Saturday, December 4, 2010
Time: 1:00 PM - 6:00 PM
Location: Alice's Tiny!Apartment - Located in Boystown/Lakeview East, Chicago
If you do not have my address and/or phone number, please PM me or comment with your email address and I will email you.
Cost: Free! :D We will be decorating gingerbread cookies!
I will be supplying (and baking~ ♥) gingerbread--all you need to bring is your creativity and/or desire to eat gingerbread. The "menu" will consist of gingerbread and hot tea--so if you might want something else to snack on or drink, please bring it with you~
I plan to play Christmas music or Christmas movies in the background. I don't intend for this to be exclusively Christmas-themed, so please don't feel excluded if you celebrate another winter holiday or don't celebrate one at all. If you want to bring a holiday movie, I can play DVDs on my tiny television. If you have holiday music, bring it in CD or iPod form.
If you've been to my tiny!apartment before, you know the drill--we'll be sitting on the carpet, with my
and 2 stools for the few lucky people. (That's actually 1 chair more
than last year! I'm moving up in the world. n_~) I don't have a couch/futon/etc. You are welcome to bring blankets or pillows for additional comfort. You may want to dress with the expectations of being around cookie-decorating materials and sitting on the floor.
This is also a great opportunity to bring any unobtrusive crafts, such as knitting, crocheting, sketching, or other small personal projects. It will give you something to do in-between batches of cookies. Crafts or craftiness is not a requirement, though--this is mostly about relaxing and enjoying each others' company.Allergy Alert!
We have two guinea pigs. They eat bluegrass hay. If you have hair/fur/dander
allergies, you may wish to bring medication.
I encourage you to:
• Wear something comfortable (and possibly an apron)
• Share cookie-decorating supplies, such as icing, sprinkles, small candies, etc.
• Bring snacks or drinks for yourself or others
• Bring a pillow/blanket to sit on upon
• Loan Christmas music or Christmas movies
• Enjoy the holiday spirit!Travel Information
I live near Belmont Avenue and Halsted Street. There are many CTA buses that travel to this part of the North side, and I am very near the Red and Brown line CTA Belmont stop. I would recommend using Google Maps
to plan your trip. You MUST R.S.V.P. for this Crafternoon! My house is tiny and I need to know how many batches of gingerbread to make, which I will be doing in advance.
To R.S.V.P., please comment and let me know how many people you are bringing and if you are bringing any decorating items.
