High Voltage

Knit "Night" (and Afternoon)

This event has been rescheduled! Please see the new and updated post for more details!!

Date: Saturday, January 22, 2011
Time: 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: Alice's Tiny!Apartment - Located in Boystown/Lakeview East, Chicago
If you do not have my address and/or phone number, please PM me or comment with your email address and I will email you.
Cost: Free! :D

If you enjoy knitting, crocheting, or any other craft, feel free to stop by for tea and company while working on projects! I may also bake some snacks, such as muffins, scones, or crumpets~ ♥

Don't feel that you must arrive precisely at the starting time. If you can drop by at any point, you'll be very welcome! I'd like to try to make these a fairly regular thing, to provide many opportunities for attendance!

Required warning about the tiny!apartment: We'll probably be sitting on the carpet, since I have few chairs and it makes it harder to fit people in the room when the chairs are present. Please consider bringing pillows or blankets for additional comfort if you are concerned.

All you need is your knitting, crocheting, or other easy-to-transport craft project. Please leave your enormous cabinet-building or cannon-welding project at home~ (Spindle-spinning is a-okay, but there's no room for a wheel.) If you don't like crafts, you're still more than welcome! (And, if you come with nothing but change your mind, I live super-close to a craft store~)

Allergy Alert! We have two guinea pigs. They eat bluegrass hay. If you have hair/fur/dander or grass/hay allergies, you may wish to bring medication.

I encourage you to:
• Pack your knitting or other craft project
• Wear something comfortable
• Bring snacks or drinks for yourself or others
• Bring a pillow/blanket to sit on upon

Travel Information
I live near Belmont Avenue and Halsted Street. There are many CTA buses that travel to this part of the North side, and I am very near the Red and Brown line CTA Belmont stop. I would recommend using Google Maps to plan your trip.

R.S.V.P.s are not required, but they do come in handy so that I can plan. (And so I know who to expect to see!)
To R.S.V.P., please comment and let me know how many people you are bringing and if you are bringing any decorating items.

Anime-Zap! @ Peoria, IL, Jan. 15-16, 2011

Although this is generally a Chicago lolita community, I know that there are some frilly folks who lurk/are a part of Chigothloli, but not actually live in Chicago or its burbs. I'd just like to spread the word about a winter anime convention at my home town and see if anyone would be interested in checking it out.

As stated earlier, the convention will run from January 15-16th, 2011.

It'll be held at the Holiday Inn City Centre, 500 Hamilton Boulevard, Peoria, Illinois 61602

Like many conventions, there will be cosplay contests, fan panels (including a lolita fashion panel for beginners which I'm running for the first time!), anime showings, and a rave!

If you register by January 10th, you can get in at the cheapest rate of $7, otherwise it is $15 at the door.

I hope to see you there!
